What is the immune system?
The immune system’s job is to help fight off infections and diseases to keep your body healthy. Unfortunately, this defense system can sometimes go wrong. That defense system can mistake healthy tissue for a foreign invader and will attack it. When this happens, it is considered an autoimmune disease.
Diabetes is a group of conditions that occur when the body has a difficult time regulating glucose levels in the bloodstream. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the pancreas is impaired and unable to function properly and can’t produce enough of the hormones that regulate blood sugar, such as insulin. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the organs are resistant to insulin.
What is bedwetting? Most young children grow out of bedwetting by the age of five, but there is a significant percentage of children who will go on to wet the bed for several years beyond that. A small portion of children will continue to wet the bed up until their teen years. This is known as nocturnal enuresis.
What is Multiple Sclerosis?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition in which the body’s immune system attacks and destroys its own myelin. Myelin is a protective sheath that covers nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. when the sheath is broken down, it causes signals from the brain to misfire. As the nerve fibers deteriorate, the disease will progress until it becomes debilitating.
What Are Seizures and Epilepsy?
Seizures are when there is a sudden change in your movements, feelings, or consciousness due to an electrical disturbance in the brain. These electrical disturbances are uncontrolled and can vary in duration and severity.
What Are Sinus Issues?
Living with sinus issues is like forever living with the flu. The discomfort may be mild or more severe, but it always seems to be there like a bad cold you can’t shake. It may not seem like the worst health problem you can have, but the constant discomfort makes it difficult to get through the day without a struggle. What Is Tourette’s Syndrome?
Tourette’s Syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary movements and/or vocalizations. At the time of this writing, experts are not yet sure what causes Tourette’s, and there is no known cure.
Thankfully, Tourette’s is not life-threatening, however, it can be difficult living with this condition. Doctors can help some patients control this syndrome with various medications, but modern research has revealed that upper cervical spine treatment may benefit those with Tourette’s.
